Thursday, April 18, 2024, 7pm at the Activity Center Presentation by Janet Wood, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, "Understanding the Nature of Stars" From our vantage point on Earth, the stars may seem fixed and immutable. However, in truth, stars are born, live, and die in a never-ending cycle of creation and destruction.This presentation will discuss these dynamic processes as well as how the true nature of stars came to be discovered beginning in the early 19th century. We will also consider the potential for the James Webb Space Telescope to help unravel the mysteries surrounding the formation of the very first stars in the early universe.
